Contraindications for Microcurrent - Do Not Use electrical stimulation, including microcurrent, if there is the presence of a cardiac pacemaker or other implanted stimulation device.
Do Not Place Electrode Pads:- Over or within 2" (5 cm.) of the heart;
- Along the sides and bottom (phrenic nerve) of throat;
- Near any malignancy.
- Over the carotid sinus;
- Over the laryngeal musculature;
- Over topical substances containing metal ions (Ex. povidone-iodine and mercurochrome) unless thoroughly cleaned;
- Over osteomyelitis
